The delicate mineral filaments of this dendritic agate are unbelievable. They look like ink drawings or some incredible fractal. As a stone, dendritic agates are particularly lovely and rare: these are formed in the Deccan traps of India, which is the world’s largest flood basalt region. The mineral plumes are only found in a small percentage of the rocks mined from the region, which may only be mined during limited times of the year as the rocks are dug from a dry riverbed.
This agate is set in a delicate open-backed sterling silver setting, and comes with a sterling 18" chain.
Pendant measures (in inches): 1.0 x / .75 y / 0.2 z
