Hells Canyon Petrified Wood Ring

Regular price $0.00 $110.00 Sale

This incredibly unique ring is made of fabricated sterling silver and a stunning piece of fossilized Sequoia wood that goes by the name Hells Canyon Petrified Wood.

The story goes that a man in the 1950s found this petrified wood in Hells Canyon (on the border between Washington and Idaho) and pulled it out before the Brownlee dam was constructed, which flooded the gorge. It changed hands a few times before being cut and sold to lapidary artists and collectors. The growth rings of the tree are still visible in the stone, and the crystal openings are from where the tree had slowly turned into quartz and agate over time. It is rare, beautiful, and a perfect picture of nature over time. This ring is truly one of a kind.

This ring is a size 7. Stone measures .75" x.625" x .25"
