This lovely necklace features an intaglio amber cabochon, meaning the amber has been carved from behind with a small sharp tool to create the image inside. Amber is fossilized tree resin, and this particular piece from Mexico is incredibly clear and has luscious color. Set in a handmade fine and sterling silver setting, this pendant measures 40 mm long, 30 mm wide, and 12 mm thick.
